Classical

Don Immel has garnered extensive acclaim as a classical soloist and chamber musician, performing with dozens of ensembles in the U.S., Europe and Asia. A graduate (Master of Music in Trombone Performance) of Rice University's Shepherd School of Music, Don has studied with Joe Alessi, Per Brevig and David Waters, among others. Currently playing with Denmark's South Jutland Symphony Orchestra as Solo/Principal Trombonist, Don is in demand as a solo and chamber artist as well.

Jazz

As a performer, teacher and composer, Don is an accomplished jazz artist. His debut recording "Long Way Home" is a boundry-crossing release of original music performed by Immel and a cast of veteran jazz-greats including Marc Seales and Gary Hobbs, among many others. In addition to his previous teaching positions at the University of Washington and Pacific Lutheran University, Don has appeared at numerous venues in the United States and Asia.

Educator

Don has taught many aspects of music at the University of Washington and Pacific Lutheran University, as well as in public schools in the northwest United States. Beyond his previous faculty positions, Don continues to conduct master classes and clinics at top schools and universities in Asia, the United States and Europe, offering coaching and guidance on a variety of performance topics.
